After a short one night stay in Da Nang we put on our backpacks and headed to the bus stop to find the yellow bus. As we approached I could see the bus we needed pulling away from the bus stop! I jumped into the road and as it was approaching I raised my hand, I couldn't believe it, unlike buses in London it swerved and a guy jumped out grabbed our bags and ushered us on to the bus and it immediately started moving. We headed to the back and handed a few notes to the grandmother who apparently rules the bus and sat down.
An hour later we pulled up in Hoi An bus station and were met by our guesthouse hosts. Wow what an amazing house, the whole place was spotless and absolutely stunning. Our room was also gorgeous. We headed out to explore and our first stop was lunch and then down to the river.
Wow I was blown away Hoi An was so beautiful.
I loved the river, the boats, the lanterns.
The entire place had a great buzz about it and was extremely beautiful.
Hoi An is known for its tailors. Every street is lined by beautiful clothes stores where you can choose a dress, suit, coat etc and they will tailor make it for you. Nathan got a coat made for the winter and also a pair of work trousers that fit perfectly. Lots of people come over to have suits made for weddings and ballgowns for parties at a fraction of the cost you would pay at home.
Nathan and I found a little coffee place we loved and every day we would sit there for a few hours, reading magazines, chatting and watching the people walking past us. It was perfect.
One day we hired bikes and cycled into the countryside towards to the sea. Vietnam has some amazing farms and it is a remarkable sight to see everyone working with the rice hats on. It was beautiful.
Hoi An made me smile everyday I loved that 9 months into travelling I could still stop in my tracks and be stunned by a place.
